So close...

Yes, these are the cabinets. They were hand-made by Tim, from mahogany. I've learned I really like this wood; it has a beautiful "glow" to it. Now we just have some tile to lay and we are DONE!!!

Goody and Misha napping on the couch. This couch really is comfy. I slept on it a lot when I was pregnant.

Roo really want this duck that Goody is holding. It has a squeaky inside it, which makes Goody crack up, but kills Rupert. He loves to get the squeaky!

No time for typing, but here are some pictures we've taken in the last couple of weeks.
Goody likes to meet me at the office "for lunch" sometimes
(plus 1st time to wear jeans and tennis shoes).

Now she rides in her stroller facing front, like a big girl!

Something to be excited about!

Yep, that's right! It's a dishwasher! Even better, it is inside my house and it works! I haven't lived in a house with a dishwasher in 15 years, since I lived at home in Adaton, Mississippi. It's pretty cool that cleaning up the kitchen after dinner only takes a few minutes! Yeah!
I was, however, surprised to discover that dishwasher detergents still mostly contain phosphates, and lots of chlorine. There are some alternatives out there, though they do cost a little more. I found an article here that addresses the problems. Here's a study from Comsumer Reports. Happy washing!

Sewing Room

I finally got my sewing room set up again, for the most part. I focused on the "sewing" part and unpacked all my fabrics, threads, and other notions. I still have 2 boxes of other miscellaneous crafts supplies that are sitting over in the corner. I'm not sure where I am going to put it all. I did discover that I have way more quilting fabric than I thought, but that I need way more apparel fabrics, like corduroy and stretch knits. One of these days I will have back my expendable sewing money and can work on that stash. For now, it's 100% cotton calico!

Stars in my eyes

I've been really thinking lots again about my "dream job" of having my own children's clothing company. My sewing room is a wreck right now, and I don't have the equity to do a huge start up. So I was thinking of starting small, like with an etsy. For those of you who don't know, etsy is a really cool place to sell hand-made wares online. And it's really cheap. I'm thinking I'll just use as much of my current stash as I can on some really unique baby clothes and post them on etsy and see what happens. We'll see...

Here's a couple of etsy sites that inspire me:
